Awarded in February 2007, certification under this internationally recognized standard sets the bar for other large web offset printers.
ISO 14001 is the internationally recognised standard for the environmental management of businesses. It prescribes controls for those activities that have an effect on the environment. These include the use of natural resources, handling and treatment of waste and energy consumption. It applies to those environmental aspects which the organisation has control and over which it can be expected to have an influence. This standard is applicable to any organisation that wishes to, implement, maintain and improve an environmental management system.

Hannanprint is part of the Independent Print Media Group who specialises in Web Offset Heatset printing for the magazine, newspapers and catalogue markets throughout Australia. Hannanprint is committed to managing environmental matters as an integral part of its business. The commitment extends to the manufacturing facility, our surrounding environment and our ability to contribute to the greater environment in which our products and operations extend.
Hannanprint will endeavour to comply with applicable environmental legislation standards and industry codes of practice that we subscribe to. We will strive for continuous improvement through the development of specific programs to address the environmental costs of our activities, products and services and we will:
- Participate in industry specific initiatives and work with local, national and other agencies as appropriate to promote environmental policies.
- Develop and maintain an Environmental Management System that will enable us to document, monitor and continuously improve our overall environmental performance.
- Ensure the Environmental Management System is adequately resourced and staff trained where necessary to ensure policy compliance.
- Commit to minimize the release of contaminants into the environment and usage of materials efficiently to conserve natural resources.
- Work with our clients, suppliers and other key stakeholders, to offer environmentally responsible and aware partnerships that ensure our initiatives have maximum impact and benefit to all.
- Develop and maintain a utility efficiency plan to minimise energy, water and landfill usage.
