There are two different types of tip-ons:
- Gadgets or Gimmicks
- Magazines, Booklets & Calendars
Hannanprint NSW is able to produce these as a secondary
process. The positioning of these tip-ons is limited to the front
or the back cover only.
Gadgets or Gimmicks
The types of tip-ons which fall into this category
are:
- CDs in plastic sleeves or boxed
- Seed Packets
- Promotional items
- Small booklets etc.
These all require a second production pass and will
attract an extra charge.
These tip-ons incur a slow down factor due to the
mechanical process.
Additional time will need to be added to the production
schedule.
All tip-ons must conform to the maximum and minimum
sizes as shown below which must be strictly adhered to:
Maximum Size the
tip-on must be is 205mm x 130mm.
Minimum Size the
tip-on must be is 60mm x 45mm.
The following are the specifications for tipped-on
product thickness which must be strictly adhered to:
- Minimum: Single Sheet - 0.5mm
- Maximum: 20mm
Magazines, Booklets and Calendars
The magazines and calendars which fall into this
tip-on category will be fed through a standard feeder.
Maximum Size the
tip-on can be is 25mm bigger on the length (head to tail) than the
product which it is being tipped onto, and the same size width (spine
to foredge).
Minimum Size the
tip-on can be is 150mm x 100mm.
The following are the specifications for product thickness
which must be strictly adhered to:
- Minimum: 2pp - Min: 115gsm - Max: 170gsm
- Maximum: 8mm
